Most residential roofs are build with an attic space below. This is referred to as a 'cold roof' when the heated part of the home is separated by an air/vapour barrier and insulation at the ceiling level.
This attic space needs to be adequately vented to allow any moisture or warm air to escape without causing problems including mold or wood rot. We will determine the number and location of the vents required for each individual roof.
A snow fence is sometimes installed on metal roofs. This addition allows the snow to melt away in place on the roof rather than slide off. When the metal heats up, the snow can shed as one large piece the length of the entire roof. This can be hazardous to anything or anyone below. Different styles are available.
